East Side Union High School District is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all of our students that is free from discrimination and harassment and ensuring that every student has equal access to the District's educational programs, services, and activities. Additionally, District policy requires that all schools and all personnel promote welcoming school communities through mutual respect, tolerance, and acceptance among students and staff.

 

The District has a long history of providing support for our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (and/or questioning) (LGBTQ) students, and partners with community based organizations to extend support beyond the school day. The District's work in addressing LGBTQ concerns is in accordance with the District's Nondiscrimination Policy and the California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act of 2000. The District is committed to ensuring safe, supportive and welcoming campuses free from discrimination and harassment for sexual minority youth.
