Yerba Buena High School opened its doors to students in 1971 to serve the population of east San Jose.  Yerba Buena prides itself upon the connections that the staff makes to its students and their families. Their goal is to ensure that all students gradate college and career ready. Yerba Buena offers intervention programs for all students and every level to provide support for students to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.  Yerba Buena has garnered awards for its work in providing intervention services to its students and families. 
 
Mission Statement
Yerba Buena High School's mission is to nurture and develop students in a safe, accepting and motivating academic environment that challenges and empowers its diverse population to meet the technological, social, and global challenges of the future.  Upon graduation, Yerba Buena High School students will be prepared to successfully participate in society.
