Storm Water Pollution Prevention

Our school sites fall under regulations pertaining to smaller municipalities (including non-traditional small operations, such as military bases, public campuses, and prison and hospital complexes). We regulate storm water entering our systems, employ best management practices in the design and construction of landscape and hardscape construction projects, and employ best management practices in the maintenance of storm drainage systems.

East Side's construction sites may be subject to storm water pollution prevention measures, if more than an acre of land is disturbed. The District requires its construction contractors to secure storm water permits as required for the duration of land disruption.

East Side's Corporation Yard at the Education Center (District Office) is considered an industrial activity site subject to storm water pollution prevention measures due to the Transportation Department's bus and vehicle maintenance facility. The District maintains an annual storm water permit for the Corporation Yard.
