Free & Reduced Meal Application
East Side Union High School District Child Nutrition Services is committed to providing students
with nourishing breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. Over the past two and a half years federal
waivers have given us the ability to provide all students at all schools with free breakfast and free
lunch. These waivers expired in June 2022. Moving into the 2022-23 school year, the state of
California has implemented Universal Meals for All. This means any student in any school can
receive a free breakfast and free lunch every school day. No money is necessary to receive
breakfast and/or lunch.

Students that attend Evergreen Valley, Santa Teresa, Piedmont Hills, Silver Creek, or Adult
Transition Program North high schools will receive free breakfast and lunch, but will be
required to provide their student identification number in order to receive the meal. Again –
no money will be necessary to receive the free breakfast and/or lunch.
In order to serve meals as quickly as possible, bar code scanners have been implemented at
Evergreen Valley, Santa Teresa, Piedmont Hills, Silver Creek, and Adult Transition Program
North high schools. The bar code on the student identification card can be scanned very
quickly.
Meal applications are still necessary for your student(s) to receive testing & college application waivers, internet, and AP test discounts, as well as additional funding opportunities for ESUHSD. To receive these benefits your application must qualify.
