East Side Union High School District Child Nutrition Services is committed to providing students
with nourishing breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. Over the past two and a half years federal
waivers have given us the ability to provide all students at all schools with free breakfast and free
lunch. These waivers expired in June 2022. Moving into the 2022-23 school year, the state of
California has implemented Universal Meals for All. This means any student in any school can
receive a free breakfast and free lunch every school day. No money is necessary to receive
breakfast and/or lunch.

Your school qualifies for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Meal applications are NOT
accepted for CEP schools. Instead, an Alternate Income Form is necessary for your student(s) to
receive testing & college application waivers, internet, and AP test discounts, as well as
additional funding opportunities for ESUHSD. To receive these benefits your income form must
qualify.

We look forward to serving your student(s) this school year and hope they are successful in all
they do.

Sincerely,
