Summer Program Statistics---2009
| | The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure students succeed by providing supplementary support. All Migrant Education students are highly encouraged to enroll in our district's summer school programs, either the Math and Language Arts Institute for incoming 9th graders, or the summer school program for all other students.
Math and Language Arts Institute for incoming 9th graders: June 22 - July 23, 2009 Time: 7:40 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. No class on Fridays. Contact Information: Florence Cisneros at 408-347-5086
Summer School: June 18, 2009 - July 9, 2009 -- 1st semester Friday, July 3rd -- No School July 10, 2009 - July 30, 2009 -- 2nd semester Summer School hours are 7:50a.m. -- 1:00p.m. Summer Graduation is on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 The Migrant Education program will provide supplementary services (academic counseling, health screening, after school tutoring and field trips) at the following sites: Evergreen, Independence, James Lick, Oak Grove, Silver Creek, and Yerba Buena High School. Deadline to Apply: April 15, 2009

| | Summer Services report indicates that 241 migrant education students (33.5% or our district migrant population) were served at our six summer school sites, James Lick, Oak Grove, Evergreen Valley, Silver Creek, Yerba Buena and Independence High Schools. Supplemental services included credit recovery through the PASS program, after school tutoring and dental exams. | |
