| | The continuing education of our teachers, administrators and other school employees is vital to the success of our students. Professional development helps educators stay up to date not only with the necessary knowledge and skills in their area of education, but in such areas as teaching techniques, classroom management, incorporating technology and addressing the needs of all students.
Professional development may involve classes, workshops or conferences, but it may also involve less traditional ways, such as peer assistance, cooperative planning, mentoring, coaching and observation.
East Side Union High School District is committed to supporting the professional development of our employees.

"I have come to the frightening conclusion. I am the decisive element in the classroom. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated, a child humanized or dehumanized."
