Aspiring California Educators ---Are you ready to become an Administrator? One option for receiving a California Preliminary Administrative Credential is to pass the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA), which is administered by ETS three times per year: January, June, and September. To assist prospective administrators in preparing for the SLLA, ACSA is offering the Aspiring Educators (ACE) test preparation program. University Course Options for CLAD/CTEL 2008! There are four online courses with two face-to-face Saturday classes. UC Riverside: UC Riverside Extension has an approved CLAD through CTEL program and it is offered online. UC Riverside offers both face-to-face and online courses and have several this summer. This program meets the new requirements and was approved by CTC in January, 2008. Student Threats of Violence and Threat Assessment Training A comprehensive, 2-day training to respond in a legally sound, effective way. Teacher/Paraeducator Expectations & Student Achievement Program TESA is designed to modify the way teachers/paraeducators interact with students through heightened awareness of how perceptions affect their expectations. Results of classroom research shows that use of TESA interactions improves student academic performance, gender and diversity awareness, attendance, classroom climate and reduces student discipline problems. TESA is for educators of all experience levels who want to improve their interaction with students.

Teacher Innovation Grants The Silicon Valley Education Foundation is providing grants for teachers to create "memorable, interactive and enhanced learning experiences for their students." Many of our teachers at East Side have been recipients of this grant. Grants of up to $500 ($750 - $1,000 for a Collaborative Grant) The application process is completed online. CSET Test Preparation Our district will reimburse the cost of the test prep and test if you are currently teaching a class for which you are not NCLB compliant. The Santa Clara County Office of Education and The Alameda County Office of Education offer CSET Test Preparation Classes, sometimes on weekends. Take a LINC-FastTech class in our state-of-the-art facility. Our specially designed flexible classroom allows you to choose to learn on either a Mac or PC lap top. Other LINC classes take place in our PC or Mac classrooms. Bring a friend or colleague. Our high-tech facility includes wireless connectivity, extensive software offerings, new Dells with flat screens, -new iMacs and even laptops in our K-14 flexible classroom. Learn technology and curriculum skills you can use in your classrooms! Our short courses will enable you to use technology in your classroom to support your curriculum and inspire and engage your students. You will earn to use a variety of computer software for both your personal and your professional use. All LINC-FastTech students have access to our Open Access Multimedia labs through the quarter for which they are registered. Regular lab hours are 6:30 a.m to 9 p.m Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Health Care Perspectives for Teachers----- University of San Diego----Summer Class! This multifaceted class fulfills the State requirements for the Clear Credential for health. The class is designed to help the classroom teacher understand the health needs of children including their physical, psychological and social needs. Participants will learn valuable resources for their students and families, as well as school health and the law. CPR and First Aid certification will be offered; if you have them, you will still need to attend class, as the subject matter is part of the curriculum. Our study in mythology will explain how to unlock major themes in all literature and use those themes to compose reflective and analytic writing.
