CLAD Information
CLAD Options
| | If you need CLAD (Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development) certification you have three options depending on when you were hired and what your credential requires. When it comes to credential issues and which option(s) is correct for you, remember to listen only to a credential analyst. In our district, this would be personnel in the Human Resources office. See list of H.R. staff at: http://www.esuhsd.org/Human_Resources/Staff.html
Professional Development Options: (Remember, the final word can only come from a credential analyst)
1. If you are a new teacher in the BTSA program, your CLAD requirement is imbedded in the induction program.
2. If your are not a new teacher who can fulfill this requirement through the BTSA program above, you have two options as of January 31, 2008
a) You may choose to take one of the programs offered by many universities to fulfill this requirement; the plus side being you can earn salary-enhancing units; the negative is that you pay for the courses. See partial list of universities below.
