Cari Vaeth, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources

Ms. Vaeth holds a Bachelor's degree from University of California, Davis and a Masters' degree from San Jose State University.  She began her East Side Union High School District career in 1976 as a mathematics and home economics teacher at Silver Creek High School.   She served as Associate Principal at Foothill High School and Andrew Hill High School.  She served as Villa Principal at Independence High School and was named Independence Principal in July of 1998.  Ms. Vaeth later served as Principal of Evergreen Valley High School and Director of Adult Education and Career Services.  On July 1,2014, Ms. Vaeth assumed her current position of Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, after having previously served as Director of Human Resources.

During her 38 years in the East Side Union High School District, Ms. Vaeth has had the opportunity to work with many outstanding teachers, classified staff and administrators.  During her tenure at Independence High School, the school's API rose from 600 to 732.  Independence received a Governor's Award of $100,000+ in recognition of the hard work of students and staff.

Mrs. Vaeth has two children, Brian and Leslie, both proud graduates of Piedmont Hills High School. She is also grandmother to Warren Vaeth.
